WDRE and WBON are extraordinary technical facilities serving Long Island New York, the 18th largest radio market in the country. The stations are full class A facilities.

The stations technical facilities are on par with top performing commercial radio stations in the metro.

John Caracciolo has been at the helm of the radio division for The Morey Organization for over 20 years. The Morey Organization at one time was the largest independently owned radio group in NY State. With over 9 FM’s and a network distribution company, the local radio group reached over 5 million listener’s country wide.

The company sold all its outside Long Island stations prior to 2003 and in 2004 sold its flagship station, WLIR-FM 92.7 to Univision.

That left the company with three Long Island FM’s : WLIR-FM, (the company moved the call letters to this facility in Hampton Bays on 107.1), WDRE on 105.3 and WBON on 98.5.

In January of 2006 The Morey Organization entered into an asset purchase agreement with Business Talk Radio LLC for the purchase of the three remaining FM stations. During this time, Business Talk LLC was operating the group under the LMA agreement and changed the format of WBON to Business Talk, changed the format of WDRE to include a syndicated lifestyle network, and automated WLIR.

When Business Talk was unable to close on the purchase in August 2007, The Morey Organization terminated the agreement for sale and on October 10 of 2007 The Morey Organization terminated the LMA with Business Talk and took back operation of the three facilities.

Two of the stations, WDRE and WBON had no format, and all three had no sales staff. John Caracciolo was placed back in charge of all three facilities and had to hire a staff, develop formats, market the stations and build a business once again. Caracciolo immediately brought in legendary dance music superstar Vic Canales, (AKA Vic Latino), to help build the radio formats back and develop the first Spanish language FM on Long Island.

The two entered into an agreement in February of 2008 that made a significant improvement to the technical facilities of both stations. They signed a long term agreement with two lower power FM stations to simulcast the signal of their main FM’s.

WDRE’s main facility is on 105.3 and covers all of Suffolk County; the addition of 101.5 broadcasting from Plainview in Nassau County now gives WDRE coverage from Montauk Point to the Queens border. WBON broadcasting on 98.5 adds 96.9 to simulcast the Spanish format and extend the coverage to all of Suffolk County adding in the important high density Hispanic areas of Brentwood, Huntington Station, and Islip to the mix of the main channel coverage.

In September of 2008, The Morey Organization principal owner Ron Morey offered long time President of his company John Caracciolo, the opportunity to purchase two of the remaining FM’s Caracciolo, along with Vic Canales formed JVC Broadcasting Corporation to acquire the stations.

JVC Broadcasting was incorporated in Novmeber 2008 and now operates the stations while awaiting FCC approval and final closing of the purchase.

JVC Broadcasting's Vic Latino and John Caracciolo have over 35 years of radio experience between them. They have been doing business on Long Island for over 20 years. What they have created on Long Island is two very unique formats that give them the ability to successfully reach a highly desirable consumer at a fraction of the price of traditional marketing.
